Hello! I’m Sophie, the owner and your teacher at Mind and Movement Yoga.

Yoga and meditation classes are situated at Hiltingbury Sports in Chandler’s Ford, Eastleigh. Classes are shared with a background and emphasis on moving with dynamic alignment. This beautiful yet challenging practice helps to align and bring harmony in our mental, physical, and emotional states. In balancing these states, we create an embodied resilience for life.

A dynamic aligned yoga practice builds a foundation of stability, and mind to body co-ordination. From which to safely strengthen, and move with mindful awareness to release tension, improve flexibility, mobility and balance. This helps to both prevent injury, and aid in recovery. The practice promotes a resilient, calm, and positive mindset in managing stress. These are just some of the benefits that will empower your everyday life, and help to slow down the decline from aging. An aligned practice complements as effective cross training for the gym, and also enhances athletic performance and longevity in sport.

Professional Qualifications

YOGA ALLIANCE Advanced RYT 500 hours Yoga Teacher and Experienced RYT 200 hours accreditation. Sophie has advanced training in Yoga Asana, Anatomy and Philosophy. She has specialised training in yoga and meditation to support emotional resilience, mental and physical health. Sophie has experience training and teaching in the U.K and in Taiwan. Her diverse students range from those with full hip replacements, to competing athletes. She is YACEP designated to train yoga teachers. Qualified to provide professional guidance and accredited workshops.

Yoga Teacher Certified: Yoga Alliance: Advanced RYT 500 hours Yoga Teacher with YogaLondon, UK. Including Advanced Asana Practices, Advanced Anatomy; Advanced Philosophy, Mindfulness Based Stressed Reduction (MBSR). Yoga and Depression, and Yoga and Anxiety in Building Emotional Resilience Through Yoga (BERTY); Restorative Yoga; Yoga Nidra Meditation; Ayurveda in Daily Life. Yoga Alliance E-RYT 200 hours Yoga Teacher with Yoga House Institute, Taiwan. Including Techniques of Asana; Teaching Practicum; Anatomy and Physiology; Meditation; Ethics and Lifestyle; Yogic Philosophy; Pranayama; Pre-natal Yoga; Bhakti Reiki; Chanting.  YACEP Accreditation: Yoga Alliance Continuing Education Provider 

Sophie is a qualified CIMSPA Level 3 Personal Trainer. She is also a certified Level 1 England Boxing Coach.
